EDIT: I've made a new and improved version, complete with a new world! Check it out here: [link]

Guide Pinkie through Gummyland to stomp on all the candies!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My first flash game. Ever.
...I think I found a new passion!
It was really hard, and I know there are quite a few bugs, and it's really short...but I'll be making more Candy Stomper lands soon. Phew, I'm tired out from all those Pinkies. I started to see pink wherever I went after a while. Maybe it's good that I'm done.
Please critique on my game-making skillz!

Aww this is cute. c: Okay well here goes, I'm not fantastic at critiques, but hey, ya know, whatever works. Okay, well first off Pinkie looks freaking adorable in here and the graphics are adorbs. I understand it's your first game, and it's far better then what I could do, so I guess this is like a consumer's point of view. XD The controls when jumping weren't working completely. I didn't really care for the fact that you had to wait until Pinkie was fully in the air to be able to move when jumping. It look me a little while to get out of that gap because I'd jump and gold the arrow key and I'd barely get off the ground and she'd just be stuck in the air. That and the fact that nothing happens when you get to the end and jump off are basically my only complaints. Otherwise, good job! c:

Here's the formula for any enjoyable game: You do something, you like what happens. You do it again.

IMO, what we have here really doesn't have much. The real fun thing you can do here is jump on those sweets but it takes a lot of trouble to do it. The physics engine can use a lot of polishing up for smoother movement. I dunno about what others think but I am a person who does not like using the space bar for games as it's a really big and clumsy button.

Also consider the sort of work you have to do to make levels where you can keep moving and jumping on candies. If you want a sort of level design where you keep wandering through levels to hop on more candies, you're gonna spend lots of time designing levels.

You can consider a system which you don't need to generate levels yourself, but the computer decides a lot of stuff. That sort of game design saves a lot of work. If that's a route you wanna take, maybe have a game where Pinkie is constantly running (on a flat area) but you gotta avoid bumping into the candies - you have to avoid or jump on top of them.

There are a lot of vivid colors in the background that likes to grab attention, and it grabs more attention than needed. You should really consider putting a transparent sky-blue layer over the background-work so the background feels more like a background. Doing that will make it appear farther away as really far away things will be faded to the color of the atmosphere. The background will also appear farther away if you changed it to move much slower as Pinkie moves along the level. The background appears to tile, but it's not a tileable background.

Also consider raising the camera so we see less ground that we don't need to see, but we see more sky instead. Also note that the outline on the ground tiles are twice as thick as outlines on Pinkie.

If you want a more realistic walk cycle, it may be helpful to go through gbaudette's videos: [link]

But, this is just a very early version of this game anyways. Making games can be very tough sometimes. Though I was a kid back then, my first game-making attempts was not as fun as this.
